Facebook Timeline: Profile replacement revealed

Facebook unveil huge overhaul at f8 conference

Mark Zuckerberg last night unveiled the latest, and largest, changes to Facebook. Following a new Subscribe button and rejigged wall, the social network is set to completely redefine its Profile page, introducing a new Timeline feature.

This new addition will completely replace the Profile as you know it. The idea is to make it easier to scroll back through the years and see what you were up to on any given day, taking in old status updates, photos and videos. There’s even a new map function to show where you’ve checked in in the past using Facebook Places.

Facebook will automatically populate your Timeline when it goes live in the next few weeks. You can then add content using the ‘Way Back’ button, which allows you to upload content from the time before the social network dominated every aspect of your life.

There’s no denying that this huge redesign will be controversial with Facebook’s 800 million users. Hit up the comments section to tell us what you think of Zuckerberg and co’s plans.
