Gran Turismo 6 release to be pre-empted by bimonthly GT5 DLC launches
Gran Turismo’s famed creator Kazunori Yamauchi has officially revealed that a sixth instalment of the ultra realistic racing sim is already in the works adding fans of the existing GT5 release can expect bimonthly DLC content to further enhance their gaming experiences.
Speaking with IGN, Yamauchi offered a tantalising glimpse of the future stating “of course we’re working on GT6 already.”
With last year’s Gran Turismo 5 release running years behind schedule speculation now surrounds when gamers can expect to see Gran Turismo 6 land. Despite no official word as to when the next-gen console will be released, seeing GT6 land as a Sony PS4 launch title is not too far fetched an idea.
Gran Turismo 5 DLC
Discussing the future of the current Gran Turismo release Yamauchi said: "It's been about a year since we've released the game and in the interim we've had about 15 updates that were performed on the game. These set up the basic platform for the system. Now that we have that out of the way, we're ready to release more expansions and content to add to the game.
"I think that will include cars and trucks that we'll be releasing maybe once every two months or so from here on out. What we do from here on is also really dependent on the reaction of the users to this first DLC that we just released because this is the first one.”
He teasingly added: “what really will be the separating factor is; something that we can't update through a DLC is something that obviously has to be saved for GT6.”
