Newly launch Minecraft XBLA release topples Trials Evolution sales marker
Following its release earlier this week, Minecraft has smashed opening day Xbox Live Arcade sales figures, new reports have revealed.
Topping the sales record set by RedLynx’s critically acclaimed and massively addictive Trials Evolution offering last month, Minecraft has hit new heights with the title’s creator Markus ‘Notch’ Persson tweeting the game had done “very, very good,” adding that it has recouped development costs and become “profitable in an hour.”
Lacking a selection of features, items and options found on the hugely popular PC rendition of the titles, the Minecraft XBLA offering sees Microsoft’s console gamers given the chance to create and manipulate their own surroundings with four difficulty levels ensuring the title appeases all levels of user.
Originally unveiled at E3 2011, Minecraft for Xbox 360 was finally launched for the home entertainment console earlier this week with the May 9th release date almost two month’s behind the originally tipped March 22nd arrival.
Setting wannabe owners back 1600 Microsoft Points (£13.71), Minecraft for Xbox Live Arcade is available to download now.
