High end tech laden wireless subwoofer will land in the UK next month
High end audio firm Sonos has unveiled the Sonos Sub – a wireless subwoofer designed to link up with other Sonos products.
The Sub is controlled from a computer, smartphone or tablet through free Sonos Controller apps for Android, iPad, iPhone Mac or PC, and can apparently be set up simply by pressing a button.
The device has two force-cancelling speakers positioned face-to-face, dual acoustic ports, two Class-D digital amplifiers, and all filter settings, active equalisation and time alignment are done digitally through DSP (Digital Signal Processing) circuitry.
It launches in mid-June and will be available in a high-gloss black lacquer finish for £599.
A black matte finish version will be available in October for £499.
“Like all of our products, our new SUB is designed from the inside out by Sonos,” said John MacFarlane, CEO, Sonos. “SUB has all the hallmarks of a great Sonos product: Clear, deep, all-digital sound, an incredibly simple setup, and beautiful design you’ll be proud to show off in your home.”
