Samsung develops universal remote with voice-control
Perhaps anticipating the launch of the Apple-branded HD TV, a voice-controlled Samsung universal remote control has broken cover, dispensing with a bunch of buttons and adding Siri-like functionality into the mix. The remote, which features a touch sensitive trackpad, is likely to ship with the company's smart TV range in the second half of 2012.

Kinect Star Wars bundle confirmed for April 3rd
The custom designed Star Wars-themed Xbox 360 console will begin shipping on April 3rd, Microsoft's Major Nelson has revealed. The bundle comes with a copy of Kinect Star Wars, an R2-D2 inspired console, a C-3PO gold controller and a Stormtrooper white Kinect peripheral was scheduled to launch in November, but was put back after delays in the game's production.

Microsoft brings child-friendly version of IE9
Microsoft has teamed up with the UK-based Child Expoitation and Online Protection agency to launch a version of Internet Explorer aimed at keeping kids away from internet nastiness. The new version of IE9 allows parents to set the age-groups of their children to prevent them seeing unsuitable content.

At least one new top Nokia coming at MWC
We're a little disappointed to hear that the Samsung Galaxy S3 won't be showing up in Barcelona for Mobile World Congress this month, but it appears we might have some lovely new handsets from the budding Nokia and Windows Phone partnership to drool over. Forbes reckons they will be launching 'at least one' new device at the annual phone show. Smart money is on the Lumia 910 and maybe one other?

Pentax launches colourful rugged camera range
We love it when gadgets put on a rubber suit and help us go toe to toe with the elements, Pentax's new range of rugged cameras being a prime example. The colourful Optio WG-2 series sports a 16-megapixel sensor, 1080p video along with a 3-inch screen on the back. In terms of toughness, it's waterproof to 40ft, dustproof and shock resistant, giving the most adventurous snapper plenty of protection.
